I thought I’d share with you today the workout I do before my dance rehearsals start!👯 It’s a great way to prepare for your pre-dancing stretches and to warm you up! Of course you can do this workout whenever you want and not only for dance! I personally keep my dance workouts separate from my ‘normal’ workouts!💪🏼
1: I like to start off doing side leg raises!
First of all, pick a side to lie down first, I usually start by lying down on my left side. Then raise the opposite leg (which isn’t touching the floor), as high as you can go, and then back down ontop of the leg that’s lying on the floor.
Do this 20 times and do two sets of them. (Basically do 40 but take a quick break when you get to 20). Then, switch sides, so if you started lying on your left side, lie down on your right. Repeat the same process. Then, go back to the other side you were on and do one more set, swap again, and do your last set. Altogether, you should have done 100 raises, (6 sets!) 100 might sound daunting but it’s worthit!!
2: Next, lie down on your back with your arms behind your head for support. Bend your knees and keep them fairly apart.
Raise your upper body slightly from the ground and then lie back down. Do this 20 times, 2 sets (I understand this can be very tiring!! But take your time💪🏼)
3: Go into a push up position but instead keep your arms on the floor. Stay in this position for 30seconds. Do 3 sets of these.
4: This is similar to the crunches I explained earlier but instead what you are doing is bending one leg, while you are using your arms as support while you move your head to the side. Every time you turn your head, switch the bending leg. Do this 20 times, 2 sets.
I hope this will be helpful and useful!💪🏼

If you’re also a dancer, this is what I do before my pre-dancing stretch routine as it’s a great warm up! A blog post on that will be up soon🤗✨
